The water is still very cold so make sure to get your flies down deep. Heavily weighted nymphs or shot can accomplish this or if you’re chucking streamers a fast sink tip line and polyleaders work well. The fish will be hungry this time of year and you may not put big numbers on the board but sizable fish are possible. Make sure to always check the water flows before you head out and wade safely.
