It looks like we are finally in for a stretch of warmer weather over the next week. The conditions will improve as the water temps rise out of the thirties. Stocking has begun so these fish will be hungry once they get acclimated. Fishing the slower deep pools will provide you with the best chances as of right now. Black/Brown Stones (10-14), Deerfield Stones (14) Rainbow and Case Caddis Czech Nymphs (10-14)  Pheasant Tails (14-18), Zebra Midge (18-22), Woolly Buggers (6-10). I expect Buggers, Flashy Buggers and Streamers to become very effective on the new arrivals.

Deerfield Fly Shop Photo Contest. From now until the end of June send in a photo of a fish you caught and the Deerfield Fly Shop logo (hat,t-shirt or sweatshirt) and be entered to win a $35.00 gift card. Please include the name of the river and your name when you send in the picture. You do not have to say the specific spot just the river or small stream. This is not a big fish contest. Photos will be posted here and on FB and my website. If you bring a photo in I will put it up in the shop. The winner will be decided at the end of June. Send photos to [email protected].
